Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What time are your Sunday worship services?
A: We have one Sunday Worship service, which starts promptly at 9:30 a.m.
Q: Where is your Sunday service held?
The Lower Level Atrium
6400 Oxon Hill Road
Oxon Hill, MD 20745
Q: Do you offer children's church?
A: We offer children's church every first through third Sunday. Our Children's Ministry is currently being directed by Deacon Timothy Jackson and Deacon Gregory Johnson, Sr. These two God-fearing Deacons have an exceptional gift of teaching and have a passion for ensuring that our youth know God and have a personal relationship with Him. Children between the ages of 2 to 13 are welcome to attend children's church.
Q: What is the typical Sunday attire?
A: At FCFM, we believe in the cliché phrase "Come As You Are" because we are not concerned with the attire of our guests or members. Our primary concern is that individuals feel comfortable enough to worship and receive the Word of God. Therefore, style is not a big deal to us.
Q: Who leads the church?
A: Friendship Christian Fellowship Ministries has been under the pastoral leadership and guidance of Senior Pastor Jeffery W. Jackson since its inception on April 4, 2010. Pastor Jackson has been in the ministry for over 30 years and was initially called by God to preach the gospel in 1980. Pastor Jackson along with the consultation of the Elder Ministry, leads the church.
Q: How do I join Friendship Christian Fellowship Ministries?
A: We understand that joining a church can seem intimidating and overwhelming at times. However, at FCFM we try to make this process as easy as possible for you. At the end of the preached Word, the invitation to Christian discipleship is extended. During this process, this is your opportunity to (1) sincerely accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, (2) get back on track with God if you have been derailed, discouraged, or distracted, and (3) join FCFM. We require all of our new members to complete three mandatory classes: New Members Orientation, Spiritual Gifts, and Passion and Personality. We believe that these classes are critical to your integration into membership here at FCFM and play a significant role in your overall development as a Christian.
Q: How can I get involved at FCFM?
A: Here at FCFM we have over 19 ministries that provide our members with an opportunity to serve. Our theme of 2018 is "Getting Ready for New Beginnings!" We encourage all of our members to get involved and join a ministry because we believe that the Church will be a better place when everyone is participating. If you are interested in joining a ministry then we encourage you to contact a staff member in the Administration Ministry and they will direct you to the proper leader of the Ministry you are interested in joining.
Q: How long does worship service normally last?
A: On a normal Sunday our worship services typically last for approximately two hours, but ultimately the time frame can be impacted at any time by the Holy Spirit and the direction in which it guides the service.
Q: Do you have services during the middle of the week?
A: Every Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. we have our "Take Time to Be Taught on Tuesday" Bible Study instructed by Pastor Jeffery W. Jackson. If you are unable to join us in person then feel free to tune in online by following us on Periscope at @FCFMinistries from your iPhone, android, or smartphone.
